In a surprisingly low-key ceremony for the King of Rock and Roll, the legendary singer exchanged vows on May 1, 1967. The bride was Priscilla Ann Beaulieu. Their wedding took place in a private suite at the Aladdin (Review) Hotel in Las Vegas and, despite Elvis's global fame, lasted only about eight minutes in front of a small group of family and friends. The brief ceremony was followed by a champagne breakfast reception for their guests, complete with a six-tier wedding cake.
Their path to the altar was a long and unconventional one. The couple first met in 1959 in Bad Nauheim, Germany, while Elvis was serving in the U.S. Army. He was 24 years old at the time, while she was just 14, the stepdaughter of a U.S. Air Force officer. After a long-distance courtship, Priscilla eventually moved to Memphis to finish high school while living near Graceland, with the wedding taking place several years later. Though their marriage ended
