Quentin Tarantino's epic martial arts revenge saga, originally conceived as a single, sprawling narrative, was ultimately released in two parts: *Kill Bill: Volume 1* (2003) and *Kill Bill: Volume 2* (2004). However, Tarantino's initial vision was to present the entirety of The Bride's quest for vengeance as one continuous film. This complete version, known as *Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (Review)*, combines both volumes into a single, chronological viewing experience.

This extended cut eliminates the cliffhanger ending of *Volume 1* and the recap that traditionally opens *Volume 2*, allowing the story to flow seamlessly from the initial massacre at the Two Pines chapel through The Bride's relentless pursuit of her former associates and, finally, Bill himself. It also restores certain scenes to their original intent, such as the House of Blue Leaves fight being presented in full color rather than the partially black-and-white version seen in the theatrical release of *Volume 1*, a change initially made to avoid an NC-17 rating in the US.

Beyond simply stitching the two films together, *The Whole Bloody Affair* also includes an extended anime sequence detailing O-Ren Ishii's backstory, which was initially cut for time from the original two-part release.
