The shared roots of rock and roll, televangelism, and country music can be traced to a single family in Ferriday, Louisiana. The legendary rock pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis, his cousin and televangelist Jimmy Swaggart, and their other cousin, country star Mickey Gilley, all grew up together.
