This puzzle unveils a well-known proverb that reminds us of humility. The phrase, "Even monkeys fall from trees," is a Japanese proverb, pronounced "saru mo ki kara ochiru". It conveys the wisdom that even the most skilled individuals can make mistakes or experience failure, no matter how proficient they are at a task. Monkeys are naturally adept at climbing, so their occasional fall serves as a powerful metaphor for the universal truth that nobody is perfect. This saying encourages a forgiving attitude towards errors and emphasizes the importance of learning from them and persevering.

While there isn't a single author for this ancient proverb, its origins are believed to have circulated in Japan's medieval period and became widely known by the Edo era (1603-1868). Some scholars suggest it might have come from China during the Heian period (794-1185). The proverb's message resonates across cultures, similar to the English expression "Nobody's perfect". The message was hidden using a Caesar cipher, one of the earliest and simplest encryption methods in cryptography. Named after Julius Caesar, who used it for military communications around 58 BCE, this type of substitution cipher works by shifting each letter of the plaintext a fixed number of positions down the alphabet. For example, Caesar famously used a shift of three, where 'A' would become 'D'.
