In the lead-up to the Super Bowl, the Miami Dolphins football team faces a bizarre crisis. Their beloved live mascot, a bottlenose dolphin named Snowflake, has mysteriously vanished from its aquatic habitat. With team morale plummeting and the championship game just two weeks away, the organization makes a desperate call to the only person for the job: the eccentric and highly unorthodox (Review) Ace Ventura.
The case quickly deepens when the team's star quarterback, Dan Marino, is also abducted. The film famously features the actual NFL legend playing himself, adding a layer of real-world fun to the zany plot. Ace must not only find the dolphin to restore the team's good luck charm but also rescue its most valuable player before the big game. His investigation is filled with slapstick humor and his signature catchphrases as he looks for clues that the regular police have completely missed.
Ace's bizarre methods eventually uncover a deep-seated revenge plot. The entire scheme was orchestrated by a disgraced former kicker, Ray Finkle, who blames Marino for a missed field goal that cost the team a Super Bowl years earlier. The kidnapping of Snowflake was just the first step in Finkle's elaborate plan for vengeance against both the quarterback and the entire Dolphins organization.
