Nicolas Cage reprises his role as Johnny Blaze, who teams up with a priest to protect a boy from the Devil, in which 2011 superhero sequel?

Nicolas Cage indeed returned as Johnny Blaze in the 2011 superhero sequel where he joined forces with a priest to shield a young boy from the Devil's grasp. This film was *Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance*. The movie continues the story of Johnny Blaze, who, after making a pact with the demon Mephistopheles, transforms into the fiery vigilante known as the Ghost Rider.

In *Spirit of Vengeance*, Blaze is hiding out in Eastern Europe, struggling to control his demonic alter ego. He is approached by a secret sect that needs his help to protect a boy named Danny, who is being hunted by the Devil, here known as Roarke. The sect believes Danny is crucial to Roarke's plans, and only the Ghost Rider has the power to stop him. The film showcases more of the Ghost Rider's abilities and the internal conflict Johnny faces with the Spirit of Vengeance within him.

This sequel marked Nicolas Cage's second portrayal of the Marvel Comics character, following the 2007 film *Ghost Rider*. While both films featured Cage in the lead role, *Spirit of Vengeance* was directed by the team of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, known for their high-octane action style. The movie aimed for a darker, grittier tone compared to its predecessor, delving further into the supernatural horror elements inherent to the Ghost Rider character.
